Playing Catch Up

If you're anything like me, then you're taking advantage of your winter break freedom to catch up on your blog reading.
If that's the case, I highly recommend you read the Elle News Blog interview with Cintra Wilson, the Times' 'Critical Shopper' columnist.

You might remember Cintra from when she did her beyond-hysterical review of J.C. Penney's over the summer. I live for her signature snark and brutal honesty.

The interview is done by Johanna Cox --the girl who won that 'Stylista' show last year and, against all odds considering she landed her job via reality television, is actually a good writer.

Spotted

I have a bit of an obsession with finding out what fashion journalists and bloggers actually look like (I'm creepy, ok?) so I practically leaped out of my seat when I read Joe Zee's column this month for Elle.
He photographed a whole bunch of my favorite people, including Amy Odell, editor of The Cut, and Abby Gardner from Fashionista.

Read it and see if your favorite fashion people were featured!

Line I'm Completely Loving: Be&D

I saw this picture of ultimate cool girl Leigh Lezark on the Elle News Blog and fell completely head-over-heels in love with her bag. I'm a total sucker for anything studded, so I did a little research on the designer, Be&D. The Brooklyn-based duo launched their line in 2004 and have been churning out luxurious leather goods ever since.
They have a ton of really hip, really beautiful stuff. I want it all.

Something to look forward to.

Thank you to Elle for pointing me in the direction of Advanced Style, a blog dedicated to fashionable senior citizens.
I have quite the irrational fear of getting older, (I wear sunblock every single day in preparation) but this makes the process look a little less arduous.

As for my favorite stylish seniors, I leave you with a picture of my impeccable grandparents. Can you believe they're in their 80s? I hope I inherited a whole lot of their genes. My grandmother went to LIM in New York to study fashion merchandising back in the day. Clearly, she learned a lot.

Head over heels

Meet Nacho Figueras, my latest crush. I fell for the Ralph Lauren model a few weeks ago while watching him in action at Polo in the Park.
Imagine my envy when I read this interview that the Elle News London correspondent got to do while he was in town for the match.
So, so jealous.
